Common questions
One API is one connected OpenAPI spec source — a GitHub repo, GitLab repo, or direct URL. A monorepo with multiple spec files counts as multiple APIs. On Free, you can connect up to 3 separate specs.
No. Apistaq is not an API gateway. It does not sit in your request path or proxy traffic. It reads your OpenAPI spec and produces governance artifacts — rate-limit policy configs, SDK packages, versioning metadata, and portal docs — that your existing infrastructure consumes. Your gateway handles live traffic; Apistaq configures the rules.
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle and do not delete your spec history or portal configuration. If you downgrade below your current API count, Apistaq pauses new SDK generation until you reduce your connected specs or upgrade again.
Previously published SDK versions remain available on npm, PyPI, and pkg.go.dev — Apistaq does not retract packages. New SDK generation pauses until you're within your plan's API and request limits again.
